what is logonome?

Logonome is a project consisting of a blog where well-known cooperate logos of Turkey and more specifically Istanbul are recreated. Logonome is a venue for interpretation of logos to communicate and underline what these logos truly stand for in our society or in our circles.

The meaning of logonome derives from two words: logo and genome. A logo is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (emblems/symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization (a logotype or lettermark). In modern molecular biology and genetics, the genome is the entirety of an organism's hereditary information. It is encoded either in DNA or, for many types of virus, in RNA. In Greek, the word genome means, "I become, I am born, to come into being". In general use, the phrase "genetic makeup" is sometimes used conversationally to mean the genome of a particular individual or organism.

Logonome, the component of these two concepts, is a means of creating and displaying personal approach about the so-called genetic codes of certain cooperate and/or public entities. It’s an open source of images such as well-known logo components as a part of everyday life and their re-creation about ever day life issues.
